There are public documents that attest to the fact that Parasol does not own the building. Refer to the Washoecounty website where Parasol’s representatives argue that they should not be assessed property taxes because they do not own the building, The County lists IVGID as the owner, and as recorded beginning on page 6 of the minutes of the February 22, 2011 hearing before the Washoe County Board of Equalization, Parasol denied that it owned the building. “Mr. McKean (Parasol’s representative) stated the Assessor believed Parasol had a possessory interest in the land, but Parasol owned the building. He stated it seemed strange the Assessor could make that statement when both the land and the building were leased by Parasol from IVGID”. In other words, IVGID owned the building.
